Description
Based on "The Resilient Self: How Survivors of Troubled Families Overcome Adversity," our "Survivor's Pride" video features live interviews with youth from varied ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. In moving and direct language, youth talk about their pain and their troubles as well as their strengths. All of their statements show our concept of resilience and our
vocabulary of strengths in action. "Survivor's Pride" is suitable for helping professionals in prevention, education, and clinical practice.
The full video, which is 70 minutes long, covers our basic theory of resilience, the vocabulary of strengths, the meaning of survivor's pride, techniques for conducting strengths-based interviews and the role of teachers in fostering resilience. Praise for "Survivor's Pride: Building Resilience in Youth at Risk" "Inspiring. Touching. Useful for kids, therapists, and teachers." -Martin Seligman "... a beautifully filmed video." -Emmy Werner "... a ground breaking video ... a must for anyone working with young people. -Phil Diaz
